The Dougherty Parent Faculty Club (“PFC”) is a nonprofit organization whose membership automatically includes all parents and legal guardians of students attending Dougherty Elementary School, as well as school faculty. The Dougherty PFC is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) corporation organized for educational purposes. Our Tax ID number is 94-3374649.
What is the PFC?
We champion Dougherty Elementary School’s mission to provide an exemplary and equitable educational program to all students by providing resources and extracurricular activities that enrich the overall educational experience and at the same time promote and build strong community spirit between parents, faculty and students.
The PFC board works closely with our principal, Mr. Brett Nelson, and the faculty, to make sure all donations, both monetary and non-monetary are managed appropriately. With the input from the staff, a budget is set prior to the start of the school year, and the PFC works all year to make sure their fundraising goals are met.
Some highlights of how the PFC funds are distributed are:
• School-wide Funding: which supports supplementary curriculum and supplies as well as extracurricular family fun nights and events.
• Grade-level Grants: which supports particular grade-level needs identified by teachers and the principal.
• Individual Teacher Grants: which support special needs identified by individual teachers
What you can expect from the PFC?
A lot of the time, the PFC works behind the scenes, so you may not see all our activities. For this reason, we invite you to join us for our monthly PFC meetings where we will go through upcoming events, faculty needs, budgeting requests, etc. These meeting dates can be found on the school website, www.doughertypfc.org, and in the regular PFC newsletters. Please note, we appreciate your input, so if you can’t make our meetings, please feel free to leave a comment in the “PFC Lock Box/Spirit Wear Box” located in the office or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will also communicate with you regularly through the PFC Update email, weekly newsletter, Facebook and flyers home.
